This is one of the only real love songs on the album, which is quite a departure for me, as I used to write mostly love songs. Because most of the songs from 'The Lighthouse' were written when I met Phil it was a big love fest, but with 'True To Me' I have had a lot of big life changes going on, so the feel of the album is very different. Despite that, I am more in love with Phil now than I have ever been, so I had to have at least one song about him on the album! The truth is I couldn't have made this album without his constant support, so this is my way of expressing everything I feel for him. Is that mushy enough?!
